New X20 X20 gives users flexibility, speed and a big screen

Ashley Wakefield of Maitland on the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia, has been utilizing Topcon Precision Agriculture products since the companies first days 25 years ago.

Across this long relationship Ashley readily admits he has owned nearly every product Topcon has released. The new X20 X20 is not an exception. Ashley has had possession of an X20 test unit since June 2005 and is clearly impressed with its performance.

"It offers flexibility and a bigger screen. It has become more adaptable by using windows XP, it's faster, and there are more USB ports in more convenient places giving easier access for downloads", he said.

Like its predecessor, the X20 X20 supports a range of applications, including Guidance, Steering Assist, Variable Rate Control, Prescription & Elevation Mapping, Spraying, Spreading, Seeding, and Fertilizing control. The X20 X20 offers the same ease of use as the X15 however is capable of handling more functions at once at a faster speed, all on a bigger, wider screen.

Ashley crops 5000 acres of wheat, barley, canola, peas and lentils, and Ashley's collection of Topcon products, in particular PRO Steer and his new X20, allow him the peace-of-mind that proven reliability provides. Ashley has so far employed the X20 X20 for this seasons seeding and spraying operations and reports its performance as nothing less than "excellent".

Ashely's greatest praise stemmed from the appearance of the console:

"It looks fantastic! It's neat and tidy."

While the X20 X20 sports a bigger screen than the X15, its sleek compact design and light weight make it less obtrusive in a cluttered cabin. As Ashley's relationship continues to evolve with the South Australian based technologies company it is clear Ashley's opinion will not change.

After such a long association Ashley believes Topcon still offer the best products, with an unmatched standard of service and support, making the company an industry leader.



X20 so advanced, yet so easy to use!

Colin and his father Adrian Stoeckel have been using a full X20 system since 1999, but in August this year the old X20 X15 was replaced by Topcon Precision Agriculture newest addition to their product range, the X20 X20.

Offering all the features of the X15, the X20 boasts a bigger screen, faster processing time, multi-function control and a sleek new look. These new features make the X20 X20 one of the most advanced all-in-one console systems on the market, whilst still being extremely easy to use.

According to Colin the X20 is 'definitely' just as easy as the X15 to master, meaning the X20 system remains one of the simplest to use consoles available. In many regards the X20 has acted to further simplify precision agriculture.

Testament to this is the brightness control the X20 offers; one of the key improvements made to the X20. The super bright SVGA LCD display with brightness control allows full range digital dimming to suit all light conditions.

According to Colin one of the key improvements is the ease with which he is able to "dull the screen down at night, it's a lot easier than with the X15."

So far the Stoeckel's have only used the new console for spraying, but the X20, like its predecessor, is also capable of Steering Assist, Guidance, Elevation & Prescription Mapping, Variable Rate Control, Spreading, Seeding, and Fertilizing control.

The X20 has twice the memory capacity of the X15, making the X20 faster and capable of handling more functions at once.

"The bigger screen is the main big advantage; the higher processing power and the fact that it runs on Windows XP are also big advantages", said Colin.

Colin and Adrian farm approximately 20,000 acres a year, on their farm in Swan Reach, South Australia. With there busy lifestyle the X20 X20 saves them both time and money in running the property and allows them both peace-of-mind.

"We're really happy with the X20 so far," said Colin.
